As one of the newest sports in the ILH, judo has quickly gained popularity and participation. It requires students to acquire the elements of physical strength, mental readiness, and skillful technique. Judokas not only execute their moves, but must also demonstrate a respect for their coaches, the referees, and the sport in general. Judo is a spring season sport, which conveniently occurs after the wrestling season. Fans of wrestling will find a likeness to judo and those who have never observed either sport may find a new interest in an ancient art.
